Overnight Safety & Supervision

When choosing round-the-clock home care, it’s important to understand the difference between live-in care and 24/7 care.

Live-In care: One or two caregivers reside in the home, providing up to 13 hours of active care during the day with an 8-hour sleep period at night, rotating days during the week. This option works best for those who need daytime assistance with occasional nighttime help.

24/7 care: Multiple caregivers work in 12-hour shifts, ensuring someone is always awake, alert, and ready to assist at any time of day or night. This is ideal for those requiring constant, vigilant supervision.

Many seniors, particularly those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, experience disorientation, wandering, or nighttime confusion, which can pose safety risks. With our 24/7 home care, an experienced caregiver is always present to provide immediate support, whether that means guiding a client back to bed, preventing falls, or offering reassurance during moments of agitation.

Personal Care Assistance

Dignity and comfort matter, especially when it comes to personal care. Maintaining personal hygiene, mobility, and daily routines is essential to overall health and quality of life. Our caregivers assist with essential tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, regardless of the time of day. For individuals with limited mobility, caregivers provide support with transfers and repositioning to prevent bedsores and improve their comfort levels.

Whether your loved one needs help getting out of bed in the morning, support with evening routines, or assistance throughout the night, our caregivers will make sure they feel clean, comfortable, and cared for at all times.

Medication Management & Health Monitoring

Proper medication management is a critical aspect of 24/7 home health care, especially for clients with complex medication schedules or chronic conditions requiring monitoring. Caregivers make sure medications are administered on time and in the correct dosage, even during late hours, preventing skipped doses or errors.

Health monitoring is a priority, with caregivers checking vital signs like blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Any changes in a client’s condition or adverse reactions to medication can be addressed promptly, with updates shared with family members and physicians. 24-hour home health care can minimize health risks and promote better outcomes, giving clients and their families the confidence they deserve.

24/7 Emotional Support & Companionship

No one should ever feel alone, and with 24/7 home care, your loved one never has to. In addition to meeting physical and medical needs, 24/7 home health care provides important emotional support to clients. Caregivers build trusting relationships with clients by engaging in meaningful conversations, participating in shared activities, and simply being present when companionship is needed.

During moments of confusion, especially in the evening, caregivers can provide a calming presence to reassure clients. This emotional connection is particularly important for individuals who live alone or have limited interaction with family members as it can reduce feelings of isolation and enhance quality of life.

How it Works

Discuss your care needs

Documenting medical needs is the easy part. Where the work comes in is understanding your loved one’s personality, their triggers and limitations, any barriers to potentially accepting care for the first time, and the little things we can add to their lives by way of a caregiver that will put a smile on their face.

Meet our caregivers

You’ll meet several fully vetted caregivers, each with a biography summarizing their skills and experience, activities they enjoy engaging in with clients, personality traits, quotes from their reference transcripts, and a photo from their in-person interview. From there, you can interview either in-person or over the phone or video call or simply decide based on their profile.

Services begin

We do our best to keep things simple and find the perfect match for your loved one on our first time around and are encouraged by how often this happens. However, if things are not quite clicking, our Client Managers will take your feedback and go back to the drawing board for a more fitting solution. Above and beyond is the expectation, not the exception, with peace of mind as the ultimate outcome.

“I first started working at LifeWorx in 2016 as a candidate manager, responsible for finding and vetting the caregivers we send into client’s homes. This was toward the tail-end of my grandmother’s 15+ year journey with Alzheimer’s, the majority of which she spent with a full-time live-in caregiver. This company’s mission and the standards to which we hold ourselves are profoundly personal to me.

Quality of care starts with our caregivers. Our dedicated team of Candidate Managers are responsible for proactively vetting new caregivers to ensure we always have the best fit available for your current and future needs.

Running a background check and verifying certifications is the easy part. Where our team adds value is the time spent by Reference Managers speaking with two or more local families that each applicant worked for long-term, assessing each reference for caliber, skills, validity, enthusiasm, and accuracy.

Once past the reference stage, every caregiver comes in for an in-person interview where our Candidate Managers carefully observe their personality, communication skills, punctuality, focus, flexibility, and demeanor. Our Client Managers then meet with each applicant as well, getting to know more about their background and what makes them unique to best match them with prospective clients.

Ultimately, the process ends by asking the most important question of all – “Is this someone I would trust in my own home to take care of my own family?” We accept only 5% of caregiver applicants, using a meticulous selection process, and enforce a one-strike policy to maintain our high standards.   With our rigorous vetting process and careful matching, you can be confident that our caregivers are not only highly qualified but also compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to enhancing your loved one’s quality of life.

The LifeWorx Difference

Our mission is to bring comfort, independence, and joy back into your loved one’s life. Our commitment to quality begins with our CHAP accreditation and state licensing, ensuring we meet the highest industry standards for safety and care.

Unlike corporate or franchised agencies, LifeWorx is privately owned and operated, which grants us the opportunity to work closely with clients and their families to address their unique circumstances with a customized plan. Our rates are straightforward and all-inclusive, with no hidden fees or overtime charges.

Anyone can walk into our ground level offices and speak with our team directly. Our in-office team works together to ensure every decision is focused on delivering the best care for your loved one.

Institutional settings tend to have strict routines, but our services are flexible and designed to fit seamlessly into your loved one’s day-to-day life. Whether they need a companion for a morning walk or a nurse to manage post-surgical care, we can adapt to their preferences and needs.

We understand the importance of trust and consistency in caregiving. Unlike other agencies that shuffle caregivers frequently, we prioritize stability by minimizing caregiver changes and acting only on feedback from you and your family. This means your loved one benefits from a familiar face and a consistent level of care, making every day just a little bit easier.

A timeless story

We’re Here For You

The Problem

Adam initially called LifeWorx for a ride to the doctors, a service we normally do not provide to non-clients. He was so sweet, and his need was compelling, so we decided to help him out. Adam was local, and we wanted to help a community member in their time of need. One of our colleagues offered to help with that ride free of charge. We had an instant connection with Adam. His personality radiated throughout our office. He would call back from time to time after that ride to chat with our employees and occasionally receive additional help. LifeWorx helped him where we could until he had fallen ill and needed more consistent, substantial help. Adam now required constant care because of his mobility issues and fall risk from his illness.

The Solution

Adapting to Adam’s new needs we found Joel, who was perfect for Adam. Joel was not only vastly experienced, but he had a huge, warm heart and was able to give round-the-clock care.  Joel processed the strength and knowhow needed to help Adam become more mobile. They hit it off immediately. Joel now gives Adam the ability to live his best life. We have since introduced some other amazing providers who also share in our adoration for Adam as his care extended to 24/7. Building that initial relationship with Adam and giving him a simple ride has led to a lasting relationship.

What Our Clients Say

Our Values

Trust

Our industry-leading vetting process ensures you never have to worry about who is coming into your home. What sets LifeWorx apart is our dedication to a superior experience at every touch point. You won’t be shuffled between departments. When you call, your point of contact will handle your needs directly and collaborate internally to ensure an efficient and thorough solution.

Relationships

We understand how tough it can be to juggle caregiving responsibilities while simply wanting to cherish time with your loved one. Our Client Managers work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition to trusted caregivers, handling the logistics and coordination with care and expertise. Meanwhile, our caregivers go beyond providing support—they build meaningful connections through thoughtful conversations, shared activities, and genuine companionship, bringing comfort and joy to your loved one’s daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Home care is defined as a non-clinical supportive service such as homemaker and companion. Home care services provide a loved one comfort and quality of in-home living.

Home health care is defined as medical and clinical supervision by a licensed professional such as registered/licensed practical nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. It also includes the administration of prescription medications or shots, monitoring of health status, medical tests, and wound care.

Home care and home health care often include meal preparation, assistance with appointments, assistance with activities of daily living, cleaning, and organizing.

LifeWorx has a rigorous and thorough vetting process. We require at least 2 years of private care experience and at least 2 recent, professional in-home references for our “Reference Manager” to speak with. Typically, we require references to be from the local community where the applicant is looking to provide services. If we like what we hear, we will invite the candidate in for an in-person interview. Here, we do a deep dive into their credentials, skills, experiences, as well as who they are as a person. If all goes well, we will run a 50-state criminal background check and check their driving record as well.

While health insurance may cover the cost of care, LifeWorx only accepts Long-Term Care insurance and private pay.

If you wish to meet your care provider before services start, we can set up an interview, trial, phone, or video call to determine whether the candidate will be a good fit in your home.

A Live-in is someone who can live in the home with you and be there in case of an emergency or assist in nighttime responsibilities. Live-in caregivers are there 24 hours a day, but typically have up to 13 working hours and can sleep at night for a minimum of 8 hours, with 5 of them being consecutive. A Live-out Home Health Aide or Nanny or Housekeeper is someone who will come and work during the day and leave at the end of the day.
