We moved here in ’59, I think it was.
I was good friends with the mayor, and he said, “Well, I have plans for a house here and there’s a lot empty you might be interested in.”
First thing I know, here was our house. Perfect.
I see something that appeals to me I grab it, bring it home, and try and find a spot for it where it really belongs.
So far so good.
People kept telling me I should have somebody here, and I fought it for a while and then I realized, well maybe they were right.
And since Maria has come they proved they were definitely right.
We do different things every single day. And it’s fun, you know?
Monday is laundry, Tuesday, shopping. The whole week I plan, you know.
I don’t know, I’m that kind of person. My husband doesn’t like it, but…
She ups my morale for one thing. We can joke with one another. And she does anything and everything. Some things I don’t even think of she does, all on her own.
I hardly believe it myself, that two people can get along this way.
I don’t know what I would do without her at this point.
As a matter of fact, I don’t think I could. She’s my right hand and my left hand and everything else.
She is just perfect. But don’t let that get around, because I want to keep her.
I love my job, because I feel, you know, she can stay here.
I know if she goes somewhere else, she is going to be depressed.
Over here, it’s home, nothing better.
