Dementia Care for West Palm Beach Residents

At LifeWorx, we provide thoughtful care strategies for managing symptoms like memory loss, aggression, and confusion. Our in-home dementia care emphasizes respect, patience, and understanding in even the most challenging moments. Our caregivers are experienced in assisting individuals living with dementia, and are equipped to navigate the changes in memory, personality, and behavior that come with it.

Round-The-Clock Care
  • Memory Care and Cognitive Stimulation
Engaging the mind can help slow memory loss and provide moments of clarity and joy. Our caregivers take part in meaningful activities with their clients such as memory games, music therapy, and reminiscing about their fond memories. Caregivers may flip through photo albums, ask clients about childhood memories, or play music from their younger years. These interactions can reduce confusion, encourage connection, and bring a sense of familiarity and comfort to daily routines.
  • Personal Care and Health Monitoring
Managing personal care can become difficult for those living with dementia. Our caregivers can assist with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always prioritizing dignity and comfort while allowing clients to stay in their home. Our caregivers also assist with managing medications and monitoring overall health to proactively prevent complications.
  • Safety and Wandering Prevention
Keeping loved ones safe in their home is a top priority. Our caregivers address concerns such as wandering, restlessness, and unpredictable behaviors with a calm, understanding approach. By providing supervision and appropriate interventions, caregivers reduce the risk of wandering while creating a soothing home environment. They are familiar with tools like bed pressure pads that can alert them to clients leaving their beds and specialized door locks that prevent wandering to enhance security and peace of mind.
  • Emotional Support and Behavioral Management
Living with dementia can bring about emotional changes. Using techniques like redirection allows our caregivers to meet clients where they are at, helping to reduce stress and agitation. When you are visiting your loved one at their home, our caregivers provide an extra set of hands to assist with redirection, making your time together more pleasant.
  • Daily Living Activities (ADLs) & Household Management
Our caregivers assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, mobility support, and toileting. They also help take care of household tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe, comfortable home environment.

24-Hour Dementia Support

Dementia-related symptoms can arise at any time. Our 24-hour care ensures your loved one is safe around the clock. Caregivers observe changes in behavior in real time, allowing quicker intervention by medical professionals and loved ones. For example, caregivers help manage transportation issues by alerting the family to discuss taking away keys for safety and will drive clients to run errands or go to medical appointments.

With round-the-clock coverage and a dedicated team of West Palm Beach caregivers, you can have peace of mind knowing that the home will stay tidy, meals will be prepared and cooked daily, medications will be carefully managed, appointments will be attended, and personal care needs will be met.

Companion Dementia Care

Companion care for West Palm Beach seniors with dementia offers more than just help with activities of daily living. They provide a warm, caring presence in your loved one’s life. While no one can guarantee that a client with dementia will always recognize their long-term caregiver, the goal is for them to see the caregiver as a compassionate, helpful presence in their life.

Where isolation can worsen the challenges of dementia, regular activity and social interaction creates meaningful engagement that promotes mental stimulation and emotional connection. From enjoying breakfast together at Field of Greens to sharing a favorite hobby like gardening or watching a show at the Kravis Center, our caregivers build meaningful relationships that make each day special.

These small moments make a big difference in maintaining a positive outlook and sense of routine with the aim of retaining cognitive function as much as possible. Whether your loved one needs companionship a few hours a week or more regular support, we can customize our dementia home care to meet your family’s needs.

How it Works

Discuss your care needs

Documenting medical needs is the easy part. Where the work comes in is understanding your loved one’s personality, their triggers and limitations, any barriers to potentially accepting care for the first time, and the little things we can add to their lives by way of a caregiver that will put a smile on their face.

Meet our caregivers

You’ll meet several fully vetted caregivers in West Palm Beach, each with a biography summarizing their skills and experience, activities they enjoy engaging in with clients, personality traits, background and interests, quotes from their reference transcripts, and a photo from their in-person interview. From there, you can interview either in-person or over the phone or video call or simply decide based on their profile.

Services begin

We do our best to keep things simple and find the perfect match for your loved one on our first time around and are encouraged by how often this happens. However, if things are not quite clicking, our client managers will take your feedback and go back to the drawing board for a more fitting solution. Above and beyond is the expectation, not the exception, with peace of mind as the ultimate outcome.

The LifeWorx Difference

We’re proud to have Dr. Howard Fillit, a renowned geriatrician and neuroscientist, on our Board of Directors. His insights and expertise help shape our practices, instilling confidence in families and professionals who choose our services.

Our approach to in-home care for seniors with dementia goes beyond basic caregiving by offering tailored solutions that meet the needs of each individual. Unlike other agencies, we focus on fostering genuine connections between clients and caregivers, ensuring that care is not only professional but also deeply personal. Patience and understanding are at the heart of our services, helping caregivers navigate moments of aggression or stress with skill and empathy.

Guided by Dr. Fillit’s advice, we can also offer referrals to other specialists. We collaborate with trusted partners to provide in-home assessments for safety and necessary modifications, ensuring the environment remains secure and comfortable.

We also offer families helpful tips and information to better understand in-home Alzheimer’s care, including how to create a supportive and safe home environment and communicate effectively with loved ones. We can also connect you with resources that will help make home modifications that enhance safety, as well as support groups for any family that may be struggling with watching their loved ones change over time.
