Caregivers

LifeWorx caregivers are a special group of Experts who are selected from a large population that approaches us for work. Our selection process looks at the applicant’s following details:

• Background: All candidates are required to have clean a background that establishes them to be trustworthy, legal to work, and safe.
• References: LifeWorx checks references by speaking directly with previous, local families each applicant worked for. We ask insightful questions and create transcripts, and dig deeper to verify the validity of each reference.
• Skills: Each of the skills of these Expert caregivers are measured and rated and our system allows us to search up to 100 skills and each skill by their level of competency. This is LifeWorx’ patented process.
• Personality: One of the hardest items to document, but the most critical for a good fit. However, empathy, warmth, energy, attention to detail, communication, and flexibility are core personality traits we always seek.

While not required, candidates with these additional skills are in high demand:

• Basic certifications/medical training: First Aid, CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), like managing finances, laundry, household chores, home maintenance, bill payments, assistance with personal care (showering, grooming, etc.) transportation, and meal preparation, are expected duties of in-home caregivers.
• Providing emotional support to elderly individuals.
• Identify and procuring resources to facilitate the senior’s health care.
• Provide transportation and driving elderly individuals wherever he or she needs to go, including doctors appointments and the grocery store.
• Handling the financial aspects of household management and medical advocacy.

To be considered for one of our nanny positions, you must meet our general requirements. Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Performing household tasks such as sweeping, cooking, children’s laundry, grocery shopping, etc.
• Ensuring a clean and tidy home environment.
• Plan and prepare meals for children and sometimes for family members.
• Helping school-aged children with homework and projects.
• Driving children to and from early childhood services, school, or other activities.

In addition to our LifeWorx requirements, responsibilities for a housekeeping role may include:

• Maintaining the client’s home, including daily upkeep, family laundry, ironing clothes and linens, and keeping the pantry stocked
• Help with family errands, grocery shopping, cooking, as well as supervising or managing vendors
• Drive, supervise, and care for children or family pets
• Ensure excellence in sanitation, safety, comfort and aesthetics for families
